Application
It is mainly used for polyester, polyester, polyester resin, hygroscopic agent, plasticizer, surfactant, synthetic fiber, cosmetics and explosives. It is also used as a solvent for dyes, inks, etc., an antifreeze of an engine, a gas dehydration agent, and a moisturizing agent that can be used for glass paper, fiber, leather, and adhesive. It can produce synthetic resin PET, fiber -grade PET is polyester fiber, and bottle -level PET is used to make mineral water bottle. Alcoholic acid resin, acetaldehyde, etc. can also be produced, which is also used as antifreeze. In addition to being used as an anti -freezant, it is also used for the transportation of industrial cold. It is generally called a cooling agent. At the same time, it can also be used as a condenser like water.
Ethylene glycol Usage
Ethylene glycol, also known as ethylene glycol, is the simplest aliphatic binary alcohol with the chemical properties of alcohols, such as the ability to generate ethers and esters, the ability to be oxidized to form aldehydes or acids, and the ability to condense to form ethers. It can also be replaced by halogens. Reacting with acyl chloride or anhydride generally results in the formation of diesters. Ethylene glycol is a raw material for producing polyester resin, alkyd resin, and polyester fiber, and is also used as an automotive antifreeze and aircraft engine refrigerant. In addition, polymer compounds such as polyester fibers can also be synthesized.
Chemical properties
Colorless, transparent, viscous liquid with a sweet taste and hygroscopicity. Miscible with water, lower aliphatic alcohols, glycerol, acetic acid, acetone, and similar ketones, aldehydes, pyridines, and similar coal tar bases, slightly soluble in ether, almost insoluble in benzene and its homologues, chlorinated hydrocarbons, petroleum ethers, and oils.
