Properties: White crystalline powder, non-toxic. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, dimethyl sulfoxide. Slightly soluble in hot water above 38°C. Insoluble in cold water and organic solvents such as ethanol, n-butanol, benzene and acetone. Loses crystal water above 300°C. Good thermal stability. Has flame retardant, smoke extinguishing and arc extinguishing properties.

Uses:

Zinc borate is an inorganic additive flame retardant, which is characterized by good thermal stability, both flame retardant and smoke extinguishing. It can be used alone or in conjunction with other flame retardants such as antimony trioxide, with better flame retardant effect. Widely used in rubber and PVC, ABS, chlorinated polyethylene, chemical fiber, coatings, paints.
